Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) goes far beyond just acupuncture. It is a time honored diagnostic process that is designed to identify imbalance and correct not only the acute symptoms but also the root cause of the syndrome. Acupuncture, cupping, manipulative therapies and precise herbal preparations are just some of the therapeutic agents that are employed to restore balance and treat the specific syndrome diagnosis of the patient. Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long standing tradition of educating the patient on foods, exercises, as well as adjunctive therapies that can be done for any condition by anyone to dramatically enrich the effectiveness of the treatment. If you would like to know more on the history of TCM this is a public link to a well researched article published in the British Journal of Rheumatology

The use of manipulative and adjunctive therapies, such as massage, offers the patient exponential avenues to healing. No matter what your health concerns are or you just want to relax and restore, massage and associated therapies can be a integral part of your care routine. In the modern world of today we enjoy an enormous variety of these therapeutic modalities, many of which are highly specific in there application and were adapted from osteopathic manipulation, as well as ancient traditions that are only now beginning to be understood by modern science. Below is a link to an article on the effectiveness of massage in the treatment of Myofascial Pain Syndrome such as TMJ, published in the International Journal of Medicine and Medical Research.
